Zareef Al Tool is a name that carries the image of a tall handsome young man A description that has long been used for the handsome Arab man and holds a particularly special place in Palestinian culture and folklore The story is said to go back to a Palestinian man remembered for his courage and resistance According to the story he continued his struggle until one day he disappeared without a trace His absence lived on through the words people sang and passed from one generation to another Ya Zareef Al Tool Stop and Let Me Tell You You Are Leaving for a Foreign Land but Your Homeland Is Better for You Words that became part of Palestinian songs celebrations and collective memory and kept the name Zareef Al Tool alive through generations For this design we wanted to transform the description of Zareef Al Tool into a character The Jafra team created an original character from imagination inspired by how we envision Zareef Al Tool A handsome Arab man with a warm complexion a black beard and strong features decorated with the Palestinian keffiyeh Within the folds of the keffiyeh the map of Palestine takes shape connecting the character directly to the land and the story behind his name A design that turns one of the most recognizable characters of Palestinian folklore into a piece that can be worn and carried into a new generation
